    Also, to provide affirmation for a decision that’s already made so that the management aren’t blamed!!!

    I would say, from my experience, the main reason to hire a consultant is to gain needed experience and service for a short amount of time to satisfy a specific need.

    For instance when building a dynamic website that will require 20 to 100 hours of programming expertise, it is more feasible to hire a consultant than to create a W2 position within the company.
